Mini Makers: Exploring Illustrators

Step into a colorful, imagination-filled studio where creativity is a shared adventure! In this kids’ art class, young artists (ages 3-6) and their caregivers team up to explore the magical worlds of beloved children’s book illustrators.

Each session introduces a new artistic style, from bold, playful shapes to dreamy watercolor scenes, sparking inspiration and curiosity.

Together, you’ll experiment with a variety of materials like paint, collage, pastels, and more, learning simple techniques that bring big ideas to life. Whether you’re painting, collaging, or drawing, the focus is on connection, creativity, and fun—not perfection.

This Series is designed to be a relaxed, welcoming space where grown-ups and kids collaborate, laugh, and discover their artistic voices side by side. By the end of each session, you’ll leave not only with a unique work of art, but also with memories made together.

Cut, Layer, Bloom

Time: Sunday, April 12, 1-4pm

Place: FCAC Studio, 122 Cussewago Square

Duration: 3 Hours

Cost: $35

Celebrate spring by creating a gorgeous flower collage using painted papers!

Participants will start by making a collection of brightly painted papers, then build a floral composition by layering shapes. This class can be adapted to a variety of skill levels and is open to those ages 12 and up.

The cost is $35 per participant and can be paid via or in cash at the event.

Participation will be limited to 20 attendees.

Allow your body to absorb the frequencies and vibrations, on a cellular level. Meditate, imagine, sleep, trance, to aid in your own well being, and paths to self healing.

Science, Spiritual History, and Myself, have combined testimonies, dating back thousands of years, that encourage sound as guides of creation. Many instruments, including Crystal Singing Bowls, Gongs, Chimes, Drums, Mantra, Chant, Spiritual Focus, and Reiki intention, are used to manifest this atmosphere of “Reiki Sound”.

The only way to really feel this though, is to EXPERIENCE it.

We encourage signing up, due to space considerations, but drop in is welcome as well. Donations are welcomed and much appreciated!

Comfort is utmost important, dress cozy. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair, floor mat, blanket, sleeping bag, pillow, beverages, snack, eye masks, your favorite aromatherapy scent, and teddy bear.

Vases in Bloom Decoupage Workshop

Join us for a fun & creative upcycle project to take boring old vases to fun patterned decor, perfect to showcase a springtime bouquet. Each participant will choose a vase to upcycle ModPodge, a variety of printed materials, and spray paint. Participants can bring their own vase or choose from those available at the workshop.

This class is designed for all ages & skill levels. We’ll provide all supplies—just bring your imagination and get ready for a fun-filled crafting experience that leaves you parade-day prepared!

2D Needle Felting

Time: Sunday, March 15 1-3PM

Place: FCAC Studio in Cussewago Square

Duration: 2 Hours

Cost: $35

What better way to welcome the spring season than with wool and creativity? Join us for this beginner-friendly 2D needle felting class that will help you think spring! You'll learn the basics of needle felting, an oddly soothing hobby, all while crafting your own springtime wool painting from the provided templates and materials.  No experience needed, just your creativity and a bit of poking fun (literally). Leave with a finished piece perfect for framing or gifting!

This two hour workshop is for beginners and intermediate participants alike.

The cost is $35 per participant and can be paid via or in cash at the event.

This workshop is limited to participants ages 16 and up. Participation will be limited to 20 attendees.

Reiki Sound Experience w/ New Blue Light Vision Council

Sit back, lay around, get cozy, close your eyes, and let yourself RELAX.

Allow your body to absorb the frequencies and vibrations, on a cellular level. Meditate, imagine, sleep, trance, to aid in your own well being, and paths to self healing.

Science, Spiritual History, and Myself, have combined testimonies, dating back thousands of years, that encourage sound as guides of creation. Many instruments, including Crystal Singing Bowls, Gongs, Chimes, Drums, Mantra, Chant, Spiritual Focus, and Reiki intention, are used to manifest this atmosphere of “Reiki Sound”.

The only way to really feel this though, is to EXPERIENCE it.

We encourage signing up, due to space considerations, but drop in is welcome as well. Donations are welcomed and much appreciated!

Comfort is utmost important, dress cozy. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair, floor mat, blanket, sleeping bag, pillow, beverages, snack, eye masks, your favorite aromatherapy scent, and teddy bear.

This event is hosted by Julie DeLeon, sound artist, reiki practitioner, and founder of the New Blue Light Vision Council.

Open Studio w/ Lauren Lowery

Lauren is a librarian and an artist who creates work under the name Jet Black Press in collaboration with her spouse, Douglas Eberhardt. Her favorite medium is the zine, but she finds joy in printmaking, photography, and fiber work as well. Lauren brings a community based mindset to everything that she does, whether it is facilitating library programming or producing a collaborative zine with her friends. Her work exists at the intersection of memories, nature, and the rebellious feminine.

Open Studio w/ Brooke Brace

Known for her colorful palette choices, Brooke specializes in mixed-media illustrations with an emphasis in animals, nature, and simple life settings. Brooke loves to tell a story in all of her artwork. She strives to make each piece express a sense of comfort, happiness, and nostalgia, not only for herself, but for those who view her artwork as well.

Brooke hosts open studios the first and third Thursdays of the month!
