Join FCAC for a monthly meet-up for all things needlecraft! Whether you are a veteran of stabbing things or want to learn the art, this meet-up is for you. Bring a snack to share and join your fellow sharp object connoisseur's for a night of needles and nibbles.

This event is free and open to the public!

In this introductory class on gel plate printing, you'll will learn how to create textured, layered prints with acrylic paints, stencils, and found objects.

The class will cover essential tools and materials, demonstrate the process of rolling out ink, and guide you through the steps of making monoprints. Emphasis will be placed on experimenting with different textures and color combinations, while understanding how to achieve beautiful, unique prints with each pull.

Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class provides a creative, relaxed environment to explore printmaking in a fun and accessible way.

Participants are welcome to stay for Open Studio (3-6) after class and continue experimenting with prints! Open Studio fee will apply to non-members.

About the Artist:

Emily Cicora is an artist and arts educator creating in Meadville, PA. In addition to her work at the FCAC, she is a teacher at the Learning Center K-8 school and coordinates the Second Saturday Artisan Markets.

Explore the world of Urban Sketching!

This three-hour workshop will introduce the basics of urban sketching- exploring perspective, composition, and structure.

Participants will be led through the process of creating their own fully colored illustration.

All participants should bring a reference photo of a favorite building, house, or structure- perhaps one taken on the Meadville Historic Homes and Garden Tour on June 20!

About the Instructor

Cruz Dragosavac is a graphic designer and illustrator. His collection of urban sketching from the Meadville area can be seen in his newly released book, Sketching.  His work can also be seen adorning the Bells Across PA installation at the Baldwin Reynolds House!

Focused on the books and illustrations of Denise Fleming, this session will involve papermaking and giant bug creating for kids 3-6 and their caregivers!

Art Sangha is a gathering that combines mindfulness and art-making.

Participants will engage in guided and silent meditations, followed by time for independent creation of artwork and time for sharing and discussion afterward.

Art Sangha is free and open to the community, free-will donations to help provide supplies are gratefully accepted.

Participants are encouraged to bring a sketchbook, preferred drawing materials and a cushion or pillow.

Ryan Brooks Leslie is an artist and registered art therapist based in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

He hopes to share the healing power of art with the community through facilitation of this group.
