Intro to Gel Plate Printing

In this introductory class on gel plate printing, participants will explore the fundamentals of this versatile, hands-on printmaking technique. Using a gel printing plate as the medium, you'll will learn how to create textured, layered prints with acrylic paints, stencils, and found objects. The class will cover essential tools and materials, demonstrate the process of rolling out ink, and guide students through the steps of making monoprints. Emphasis will be placed on experimenting with different textures and color combinations, while understanding how to achieve beautiful, unique prints with each pull. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class provides a creative, relaxed environment to explore printmaking in a fun and accessible way.

Workshop Details:

Location: FCAC Studio in Cussewago Square, Meadville, PA

This guided class is ideal for people 12 years and older. Beginner to intermediate friendly. All materials provided.

Workshop Fee: $25

Sunday November 23th, 1-3 pm 

Participants are welcome to stay for Open Studio (3-6) after class and continue experimenting with prints!  Open Studio fee will apply to non-members.

About the Artist:

Emily is an artist and arts educator creating in Meadville, PA. In addition to her work at the FCAC, she is a teacher at the Learning Center K-8 school and coordinates the Second Saturday Artisan Markets.
